Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how Hagglers works

Every morning our system checks prices at Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. When a product goes "on special", we compare the sale price against the last 6 months of price history. If the price was the same or lower before the supposed discount, we flag it as a fake. For example, if milk was $3.50 for three months, got bumped to $4.20, then put "on special" at $3.50 — that's not a real saving. We catch that automatically.
Prices are checked once a day, every night around midnight AEST. The new prices are live on the site by the time you wake up. We check the same products consistently so the history stays accurate over time.
We currently track Coles, Woolworths, and Aldi — the three biggest supermarkets in Australia. We're focused on getting these right before expanding. If there's a store you'd love to see added, let us know through the feedback button.
We're still growing our product catalogue. We currently track thousands of products across the most common grocery categories — dairy, bread, eggs, meat, cereal, coffee, snacks, drinks, cleaning, baby products, and more. If something is missing, it likely means we haven't added that category yet. We're expanding regularly, so check back soon.
As you browse or search for products, click the "+ Basket" button to add items to your shopping list. Then visit your basket to see which supermarket is cheapest for your entire shop. We'll also flag if splitting your shop across two stores could save you even more.
No. Hagglers works without any signup, login, or personal information. Your basket and recently viewed products are stored locally in your browser. There's nothing to create and nothing to remember.
We launched recently, so some products may not have a full 6 months of data yet. The history builds up automatically every day. The longer Hagglers runs, the more accurate our fake discount detection becomes. Products we've been tracking from the start already have a solid history.
No. Hagglers is completely independent. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any supermarket. We built this because we were tired of seeing fake discounts ourselves and wanted a tool that held supermarkets accountable.
Use the feedback button in the bottom-right corner of any page. We read every submission. If a price looks wrong, it may be a lag between when the store changed the price and when our system picked it up — prices are checked once a day overnight.
Hagglers is free to use right now and we plan to keep core features accessible. As we grow, we may introduce optional premium features to cover server costs, but the ability to search, compare prices, and spot fake discounts will remain available.
